Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Exists In My Life, But Doesn’t Control It

For the past 28 years, Ross has lived with multiple sclerosis. If you ask him however, Ross would tell you that it exists in his life, but it doesn’t control his life.

“NDIS funding has given me the opportunity to maintain my health as well as continuing community engagement and taken a bit of pressure off my family and friends,” said Ross. “I feel more independent with my life, it has given me more choices.”

When it came to finding the right assistance for his technology needs, Ross engaged LifeTec.

“I chose LifeTec because of their professionalism and willingness to provide what was required to suit my needs. Instead of telling me what I needed, they gave me choice and ownership.“Having choice and control over my life has enabled independence to interact and access my community. It’s increased my independence in daily living and reduced family and carer stress.”

According to Ross, his journey with LifeTec has allowed him the opportunity to imagine what is possible, seek the correct information with appropriately qualified professionals and choose what is best suited to his lifestyle.

“LifeTec’s persistence and professionalism has truly given me tremendous independence for which I am truly grateful,” he said.

“The most enjoyable part of my role is helping people imagine the possibilities and opportunities that assistive technology can provide. “It’s about working with people to seek and implement the right assistive technology solution, which enables them to choose to continue to do the things they love and live a better quality of life.”

As a result, Ross lives a happy, healthy and very active life within the community.

He keeps himself busy as the Townsville and District Rugby League chairperson, he enjoys fishing, spending time with his family and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
