Media Release: Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) Research and Innovation Funding Round

LifeTec is pleased to be awarded DACS funding for an innovative digital project in the aged care sector.

This competitive funding round provides seed funding for innovative projects that support older Australians to access the care they need, where and when they need it.

These grants will help strengthen the capacity of our aged care sector, consumers and their families to prepare for future challenges.

Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ken Wyatt AM, MP said the projects will help the aged care sector remain flexible and adapt to new needs as Australia’s population ages.

“This funding will help to identify barriers that restrict access and choice for consumers in the current aged care system and make sure the special needs of consumers from diverse backgrounds are met, both appropriately and sensitively,” Minister Wyatt said.

LifeTec will be engaged in launching a digital learning project supporting people living with dementia to stay in their own home.

A range of digital resources will grow capabilities in the sector, enabling people to engage with the benefits offered by smart assistive technologies for people living with dementia.
